Introducing WashU IT’s new navigators

In support of WashU IT’s End User Experience (EUX) initiative, the EUX Navigator Program is being launched, designed to improve collaboration with stakeholders by fostering strong relationships and a sense of community across the university. As part of this program, Dan Williams, Assistant Director of Business Alignment, and Ian Patterson and Dan Skillington, Business Alignment Specialists, will transition from Enterprise Systems and Solutions (ESS) to EUX, effective January 21, 2025. They will be under the leadership of Michelle Stirnemann, Senior Director of EUX, and joining the team to help elevate the IT experience for both internal teams and our valued customers.

The transition is designed to improve collaboration with stakeholders by fostering strong relationships and a sense of community across the university. Navigators, each known as a Business Alignment Liaison (BAL,) will serve as the primary point-of-contact for stakeholders, guiding them to the right IT resources and making it easier for them to identify and use the right services to fit their specific and unique needs.

Each BAL will be responsible for a specific zone, acting as a subject matter expert. The BAL will support our customers by assisting with problem resolution, accelerating issue resolution and offering proactive resources to help effectively engage with IT. By building strong, trusting relationships, Navigators will be equipped to understand customer needs more clearly and connect them quickly to the appropriate resources.

This change is in support of ImpacT, WashU IT’s Strategic Plan. We will succeed when we proactively provide tools and resource that anticipate and address IT needs, ensuring customers and internal teams seek us out as trusted partners in resolving challenges and finding solutions.
