Network Modernization, Holiday donation and engagement drive, and more are focus of November IT All Hands

A Network Modernization update, news about WashU IT’s holiday donation and engagement drive, and more are the focus of this month’s IT All Hands meeting, which is set to take place from 3-4 pm CT Wednesday, Nov. 20.

The first item on the agenda will be a report from David Gomez, IT Learning and Development Specialist, and Joanna Kim-Keller, IT Project Manager III, representatives from the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

During the meeting, new contractors and full-time employees will be recognized and the second round of 2024 ImpacT award winners will be announced. Throughout the year, employees are encouraged to nominate their peers for these awards. People of ImpacT are those individuals who personify the IT Strategic Plan, ImpacT, through their significant and positive influence on their peers and others across the university, the institution, and the community around them. These individuals make a meaningful different through their actions, contributions and choices.

Additionally, some employees will be recognized for milestones, including years of service and promotions.

Kayla Knoll, IT Project Manager III, will provide the Network Modernization update, followed by an ImpacT story from Sarah Grantham, Application Developer Lead, who will explain how employees can take part in the annual United Way holiday donation drive, 100 Neediest Cases. She will also talk about volunteer opportunities people can participate in to earn engagement points for their teams. Grantham, an Application Development Lead, has been leading the annual holiday campaign for several years, with the help of a committee.

Each month, WashU IT hosts IT All Hands meetings to share organizational updates on what’s happening within the university. Materials and recording from previous meetings are available in the IT All Hands Archives.

The November meeting marks the last of 2024. Meetings will resume on Wednesday, January 20, 2025, with a recognition of all 2024 ImpacT Award winners. A Person of ImpacT is someone who exemplifies the tenets of WashU It’s strategic plan, ImpacT, through their commitment to the customer experience, helping their coworkers, and going the extra mile.
