Thanks to recent tours of the Research Data Center on the Medical School campus, nearly 40 WashU students from an infrastructure architecture class had a valuable practical learning experience.
The student tours were led by Craig Hager, Senior Director of Information Technology, and Tim Flynn, IT Critical Infrastructure Technician III.
Saeed Akbani, Professor of Practice in Engineering and Professional Education, teaches the course through the Master of Information Systems Management program. He described the opportunity as “an amazing learning experience.”
“My students are full-time with little to no work experience, and almost all had never visited a data center before,” he said. “Craig and Tim were great hosts, describing everything in detail and answering student questions.”
