CHIME Award hails BJC and WashU as digital health leaders

BJC HealthCare and Washington University recently achieved recognition from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) for exceptional dedication to excellence in digital health in the levels of acute and ambulatory care.

This acknowledgement is the result of participation in the 2023 Digital Health Most Wired Survey, which factors in the commitment of time, effort, and diligence expended to contribute to one of the most extensive programs in the world for establishing and communicating organizational benchmarks. BJC and WashU ranked in the top tier among 55,000 peer facilities in areas such as analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement.

“This distinction validates our commitment to excellence across the digital experience and we are honored to be recognized among other leading health care providers around the globe,” said Theresa Eckman, Vice President of Health Information Systems at BJC.

Participating health care organizations receive a digital health score between 1-10. BJC and WashU achieved a score of 8 in both areas.

“This recognition serves as confirmation that we are taking the right steps to move toward our digital future in an intentional way,” said Amy Walter, Deputy Chief Information Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor of Clinical, Research, and Medical Education Technologies at WashU. “It is an honor to serve our community by facilitating world class clinical care and research through innovative tools and resources.”
