Celebrating employees, diversity and important organizational updates were the focus of September’s IT All Hands

Employee milestones and diversity were among the main topics of the September IT All Hands meeting. Nearly 450 employees from across IT at WashU tuned in recently to hear important updates about the Student Data Program and the End User Experience (EUX.) Individuals were also encouraged to join teams for the upcoming Thinksgiving Day for area nonprofits, and two winners were named for tickets to a Cardinals game and the upcoming WashU Day at the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Julie Szaj, Director of Organizational Change Management, on WashU IT’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee kicked off the meeting with an update from the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee. The theme for September is diversity, and those who attended the meeting learned about the committee’s progress in aligning goals with the IT ImpacT Strategic Plan.

Additionally, Szaj challenged each person attending the meeting to engage in a single act, by identifying something they can do in their work life to show they support allyship. Examples for a single act included adding pronouns to an email signature line, inviting others to speak, giving credit to peers, empowering individuals on their teams, and listening.

Jen Stedelin, Deputy Chief Information Officer, Academic and Administrative Technologies, and Rooji Sugathan, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Data Management and Analytics, provided a timely update on the Student Data Program, followed by Michelle Stirnemann, the Senior Director of the End User Experience (EUX), talking about EUX’s mission and vision, and inside-out initiative to make customers feel confident, valued, and uniquely understood by providing transparent, seamless, and accessible IT services and support.

Congratulations to the September attendance drawing prize winners:
