E-Waste Recycling and Confidential Paper Shredding event at Knight Center successful

The WashU Office of Sustainability and the WashU IT Office of Information Security hosted a successful e-waste recycling and confidential paper shredding event last week at the Knight Center on the Danforth campus. About 2,500 pounds of electronic waste was collected and six totes of confidential documents were shredded during the two-and-a-half hour event.

Sustainability Coordinator Heather Craig noted nearly 100 cars passed by Snow Way during the event. WUPD Officer Danielle Hunt and Misty, one of WashU’s comfort dogs, stopped by to greet guets. The event was held ahead of the Washington University School of Medicine’s Earth Day Festival, which will take place April 25th. Anyone can sign up for upcoming sustainability event reminders
