Last month we announced there would be a focus group established to evaluate how we can enhance our employee engagement efforts. Sparck, the third-party vendor contracted to conduct our employee engagement survey last fall, facilitated this important conversation with a small group of WashU IT employees.
I am pleased to share that the #BeHeard Conversation highlighted organizational strengths, such as a noticeably improved workplace culture, well-selected and exceptional people managers, and a standout benefits package.
It’s additionally valuable to note we have identified priority areas requiring attention. This includes the need for better recognition for performance, a call for standardized operations that will improve efficiency and communication, and a focus on clarifying the expectations for roles to enhance collaboration.
The information gathered during this focus group will be examined more carefully so we can glean further insights that can be shared with everyone. I want to thank those who participated in the #BeHeard Conversation focus group. We rely upon their honest feedback to continue shaping the direction of our ongoing employee engagement efforts.
