How do I compress/un-compress a large file?
- File Compression on Windows:
- Locate the file or folder you want to compress and right-click it.
- Hover your cursor over “Send to” and select “Compressed (zipped) folder”
- A new .zip file will be created in the same location
- File Compression on macOS:
- Select the file or folder you want to compress and control-click it
- Choose “Compress” from the shortcut menu
- A new compressed file with a .zip extension will appear
- Un-compressing a file on Windows:
- Right click on the file and select Extract All
- Follow the wizard
- Un-compressing a file on macOS:
- Double-click the zipped file
- The file will extract to a new folder within the original folder
