Network Modernization, Holiday donation and engagement drive, and more were the focus of November IT All Hands

The November IT All Hands meeting took place on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 3–4 p.m. CT, featuring updates on Network Modernization, WashU IT’s holiday donation and engagement drive, and more. An Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Spotlight kicked off the meeting, which drew a crowd of more than 430.

A brief introduction was provided by Chief Information Officer, Jessie Minton, on recent events and news. In the first item on the agenda, David Gomez, IT Learning and Development Specialist, and Joanna Kim-Keller, IT Project Manager III, represented the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.

New contractors and full-time employees were recognized, and work anniversaries were celebrated. Additional recognitions included service milestones and recent promotions.

The employee engagement portion of the meeting culminated with a special acknowledgment given to those honored during the second round of the 2024 ImpacT awards. These awards celebrate individuals who personified the IT Strategic Plan, ImpacT, through their significant and positive influence on peers, the university, and the surrounding community. Recognized employees made meaningful contributions through their actions, choices, and impact.

Kayla Knoll, IT Project Manager III, provided an update on the Network Modernization initiative. Sarah Grantham, Application Developer Lead, shared details about the 100 Neediest Cases holiday donation drive and encouraged employees to participate in volunteer opportunities to earn engagement points for their teams. Grantham, who has led the annual holiday campaign for several years with the support of a dedicated committee, also highlighted ways to get involved. There are still ways for individuals to help.
