WashU Enterprise Applications is changing its name to Enterprise Systems and Solutions (ESS). ESS, which falls under the scope of Jen Stedelin, Deputy CIO for Academic and Administrative Technologies, will still deliver the same exceptional service and expertise to the WashU community. The new name is a more accurate reflection of the team’s evolved holistic scope of responsibilities. Mark Craig, who reports directly to Stedelin, will remain the Executive Director of ESS.
The change is also in alignment with industry naming standards as WashU IT launches its first Enterprise Architecture (EA) team within Chief Technology Officer, Greg Hart’s department. Sitting at the heart of strategy and execution, Enterprise Architecture will help shape and guide the university’s technology landscape, aligning with Here and Next objectives and promoting innovation while enhancing operational efficiency across various academic, research, and administrative areas.
Though the name changes are simple in nature, the addition of EA aligns it is a significant step forward toward fulfilling the WashU IT strategic plan, ImpacT, mission: to be the trusted, strategic technology partner enabling the university’s mission by delivering secure, innovative, and information-rich solutions.
