The Office of the Chief Information Officer welcomes Mark Chapman as our new Director of IT Service Management. Mark joined the PPMO & Service Management Office on Monday, April 18th. Mark’s immediate focus will be reaching out to our campuses and departments to learn about our current ITSM practices. Using broad stakeholder input, he will lead our collaborative effort to build a service management framework and roadmap.
Mark is an IT Service Management and Process Improvement practitioner with more than 30 years of experience creating, developing, implementing, supporting, and improving IT Service Management and Process Improvement initiatives. Mark has spent much of his career committed to educating and assisting colleagues and organizations in ITIL and ISO principles and practices. Mark was awarded his ITIL Master certification in 2010 by the Office of Government Commerce (UK) and has served as an advisor to the ITIL Board of Governors and the ISO Advisory Board, specifically relating to Service Management.
Mark continues his education and learning through the gaining of advanced certifications and participating in professional forums. Mark earned his Sc.D. in Computer Information Systems studying both internationally and at Rutgers University. Mark is inspired daily by his wife and their three grown sons. In his free time, Mark likes to build custom solid-body guitars, restore vintage audio equipment, and restore vintage British motorcycles.
