WashU ChatGPT now Ask WashU
WashU ChatGPT, the first generative AI tool offered by WashU, is now Ask WashU. Ask WashU is the next generation of WashU ChatGPT, offering more robust generative AI capabilities.
This private, university protected version of an AI question-and-answer tool runs inside WashU’s controlled environment, ensuring that anything users type stays within university systems and is not shared externally or used to train public models. Ask WashU can be customized to interact with users in the manner most preferred by that individual.
Users can get help from this secure advanced AI chatbot by asking it to interact with multiple files, selecting different models, and accessing similar features with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Copilot Chat.
Other capabilities include Assistants and an Infosec Policy Assistant. Assistants are tuned with specific data sets to provide focused responses based only on the data context provided and designed to stay within knowledge boundaries. The Infosec Policy Assistant allows WashU community members to interact with Infosec’s policies, standards and procedures in a conversational experience rather than having to search, scan and click through numerous webpages.
Users can customize their Ask WashU experience with personal preferences, document management, and user configuration options. The chat experience can be adjusted by choosing a preferred model, switching assistants, managing conversation features, and finetuning how the system responds.
Ask WashU is an equitable, robust, modern generative AI experience that is available to every person at the university at no cost. To learn more visit Ask WashU.
