WashU IT welcomes Melissa Schicker, Administrative Coordinator

It is with great excitement that WashU IT welcomes Melissa Schicker as their new Administrative Coordinator. As the new IT team member, she will assume the responsibilities of Carol Coplin, who retired from the WashU IT team this fall. Melissa has worked in various departments around WashU campuses before joining IT.

Melissa begins her career with WashU IT on Thursday, November 3rd. In collaboration with Ashley Miholli, they will provide administrative support services to everyone in WashU IT.  Further, Melissa will assist with coordinating staff services, interoffice activities, schedules, calendars, meetings, recognition programs, general building maintenance and related administrative needs.

Melissa says, “My husband Adam and I are both native St. Louisans and we’ve lived in the Hill neighborhood for the last 15 years. My career at Wash U started in 2015 in the research field, first in pediatrics then in Alzheimer disease within the Neurology department. When I’m home, I love to cook, read, and paint while my dog Tinsley stares at me (the last part I don’t love but I’ve had to get used to it) and I’m hugely addicted to caffeine, gothic fiction, and traveling anywhere.  I’m so excited to get started with WashU IT and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone!”.

The WashU IT team is very excited to welcome Melissa and all the new faces we have welcomed to the office this fall.
