Microsoft Teams unveils new Chat & Channels experience

Microsoft has unveiled an exciting update allowing individuals to customize the Teams platform. As of late June, the new Chat & Channels experience was introduced, allowing for a streamlined interface merging Teams and Chat into a singular menu.

This redesign means the left navigation bar, traditionally home to separate sections for Teams, will now unify Teams, channels, and chats into one consolidated menu. Favorites, chats, and teams and channels will appear within the same interface, promoting ease of access and swift transitions between different communication threads. Additionally, users will have the capability to create custom sections, further facilitating personalized organization and efficient workflow management.

In response to this rollout, users are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the update via Microsoft’s support page, which is dedicated to the new chat and channels experience in Microsoft Teams. For those seeking a more comprehensive understanding, Microsoft Teams: The new chat & channels experience User guide offers an expanded and printable how-to guide.

Microsoft touts this change will enhance productivity and lead to greater simplicity in managing communications within Microsoft Teams.
