AI Literacy Foundations Program now offered to staff

WashU IT launched the AI Literacy Foundations Program for staff on April 17, 2026. This introductory program, made up of three courses, gives foundational knowledge of AI to help staff enhance their daily work and more efficiently complete personal tasks with the help of AI.

Each course is approximately 20 minutes in length and can be found in Workday. The topics covered include legal and regulatory compliance, the ethical use of AI, preventing operational disruptions, safeguarding privacy, and introductory guidance on prompt engineering and practical opportunities for use.

“AI can be a powerful assistant in our daily lives. The AI Literacy Foundations Program will help WashU staff upskill professional development, increase personal efficiency, and ensure we are all taking full advantage of this evolving technology by confidently using AI in an ethical and responsible way,” said Greg Hart, chief technology officer, WashU IT.

Dedicated to equipping WashU with innovative, safe and trusted technology, the WashU IT team is excited to offer this course to WashU staff.
