March 23: Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint default Sharing Change

In order to increase the security of our Data, Washington University Information Security and Information Technology have collaborated to change the default share setting for documents or folders in Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

Share links created prior to the change will not be impacted.

Effective this Wednesday, March 23, at Midnight, documents uploaded to Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint will default to:

Microsoft Teams ChatOneDrive and SharePoint
– People currently in this chat
– View Only access
– People with existing access
– View Only access

You can modify the default settings from view to edit in order to collaborate on documents. Please visit the Knowledge Base (Requires WUSTL Key login) for instructions.
