WashU IT is excited to share new developments designed to enhance the customer experience. Software Asset Management (SAM) and Software Operations are collaborating to deliver even more value to WashU.
Looking ahead to 2026, the upcoming launch of the Software Asset Management Communications Hub—a new SharePoint site designed to keep customers up to date on software will be the go-to spot for renewal schedules, key metrics, training opportunities and special events.
SAM in End User Experience (EUX) will host interactive brown bag sessions where those across WashU can learn about the latest enhancements to software managed by Software Operations in End User Services (EUS), making this a great chance to connect, ask questions, and stay informed.
Renewals Managed by SAM
The SAM team in EUX will now oversee all software renewals. The first software renewal survey led by this team was initiated in early November for BioRender, Parallels and Nitro. The team is proud to report that those surveys were completed prior to Thanksgiving.
Moving forward, renewal surveys will run for one month, with a target of completing renewals 30 days before expiration to allow time for updates and prevent service interruptions. The continued support of customers is essential for the team’s efforts to be successful. Please note due to the extended survey period, grace period extensions will not be available.
Software Operations: A New Chapter
The End User Services software team now has a new name—Software Licensing is now Software Operations. A dedicated internal email address launches January 2 for easier communication.
Streamlined Requests
Software Operations split the custom hardware and software forms for better clarity. Both teams will continue collaboration on the Software Request Form to deliver improved metrics and faster processing. To request software, please continue using the appropriate software-specific forms or the Software Request Form in ServiceNow.
