WashU IT welcomes Tech Specialist, Tai Huynh! Tai previously held a previous role as Sr. Tech and 3D Tech Lead for Student Tech Services prior to his 2023 WashU graduation in Computer Science.
What is your previous work experience?
“My two previous work experiences were both at Washington University in STL! The initial one was an internship at the Office of Sustainability the summer before my first year in college, and the latest positions have all been at Student Technology Services. I started off gradually as a 3D Tech/Service Desk Tech before transitioning into more leadership roles.”
Where did you go to college and what is your degree in?
“I went to Washington University in STL and graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science.”
What inspired you to apply for your new position?
“The opportunity came to me a few weeks before graduation. I knew I wanted to stay in STL, and I felt confident that as a recent graduate, I could support the student techs and other full-time staff.”
What has been the most surprising part of your job so far?
“The transition from college life to a full-time job schedule was the most unique. Being on a college campus but not actually having to anticipate the stress of classes and projects brought a new sense of calmness yet uncertainty.”
What are you most excited about in this new role?
“I’m most excited to continue fostering student interest and development in the world of technology.”
