WashU IT and WUSM ITSS have begun securing the wired network on the WUSM campus, a process called Network Access Control (NAC). This process introduces a New Network Registration process to access the wired network on the WUSM campus.
Network Access Control (NAC) will allow us to secure the wired network in a manner similar to the WUSM-Secure wireless network, which requires your WUSTL Key credentials.
- Communications will be sent to the occupants of each impacted location prior to implementation.
- WUSM ITSS Deskside will be present at each impacted location the day of implementation to assist with any unforeseen challenges.
- If you experience any network connection issues on the day of the maintenance please notify the WashU IT Service Desk at (314) 933-3333 so we may assist you.
WashU Managed Windows 10 or 11 Computer Users
After Network Access Control (NAC) has been initiated at your location your Windows 10 or 11 computer obtained from the WashU IT Depot should connect to the wired network automatically.
- If your Windows 10 or 11 computer does not automatically connect to the wired network please contact the WashU IT Service Desk for assistance.
WashU Managed Mac Users
After Network Access Control (NAC) has been initiated at your location you will need to:
- Acknowledge the wired network certificate by entering your username and password.
- May need to accept the certificate for the wired network by entering your password.

Personal Apple and Windows Computers
After Network Access Control (NAC) has been initiated at your location you will need to:
- Visit the Register your Device page
- Select Register My Apple or Windows Computer
- Follow the on screen instructions to register your person device for the wired network.
Register Other Device Types
New devices which require access to the wired network will need to be registered using the Add New Device to the Medical Network ServiceNow request form.
