Wired Network Registration Process
Note: Registration requires the computer’s or device’s MAC address(es).

To connect to the on-campus wired network you may be required to register your computer or device.

Computers and Devices must be registered to connect to the wired network on the Medical Campus, to help protect patient, student, research, and academic data.
How can this impact me?
- Devices obtained from the WashU IT Depot are automatically registered for the wired network.
- Devices obtained from a different source muse be registered to be connected to the wired network.
How do I register devices NOT obtained from the WashU IT Depot?
- Please contact the Service Desk to register new devices for the wired network.
- You can also register the device(s) yourself if desired. Simply scroll to the top of this page, select the appropriate option, and follow the instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Devices connected to the WashU wired network via green network cables.

- On-campus devices connected to the WashU wired network, typically with a green network cable, located in one of the areas listed below:
- WashU Medical campus
- WUCA clinics
- WashU off-site locations
- Devices procured from a supplier other than the WashU IT Depot must be registered.
- Devices obtained from the WashU IT Depot are automatically registered.

Once a device is registered it will remain registered provided it is active on the WashU wired network.
If the device is not active on the WashU wired network for one (1) year or longer then the registration will expire and it must be re-registered.
Yes, you can remove the network cable from a device, move it, and plug it back into the WashU wired network. This will not impact the device’s registration
