Will any data be deleted?
No. WashU IT has temporarily increased the storage quota for users currently storing more than 1 TB of data. This increase accommodates the current usage plus an additional 10%. Beginning in 2026, WashU IT will contact users directly to find a permanent storage solution. Until then, users should not experience any changes unless they reach their temporary storage quota limit.
When uploading a file that will cause you to exceed your quota, you will receive an “upload failed” message with details that your account storage limit has been reached.
If the temporary storage quota increase does not meet your current needs, you may request an additional storage quota increase by completing the Box request form or the OneDrive request form. Please note that alternative storage options or quota increases may incur a financial cost per user or department, which will be discussed with you upon reviewing your request.
