Jira is a powerful project management and issue-tracking tool used primarily for agile software development, but it can also be customized for various other types of project management. It helps teams plan, track, release, and report on their work efficiently.

For New Users

Accessing Confluence

The WashU Jira account managed by WUIT is an enterprise level account that is comprised of projects owned by each department/team using the application to manage their work.

It is important to note, that while this is an enterprise level account, this does not mean that account access is free to all WashU employees. Annual Licensing fees are charged for each individual needing edit access in the application.

Requesting access

Who can request access: Any WashU employee can request access to the account. 

How to request access: Complete the Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) Access – New Form in ServiceNow.

The Access Management team will contact you once the request is fulfilled.

WashU’s Atlassian products are HIPAA and FERPA compliant. However, it is not recommended for storing sensitive data, such PHI and PII. There is a second instance which has additional data protection restrictions. If you are uncertain which instance your use case requires, please request a consultation using the form below.
