Project Summary

Improving Technology Services for Students

Currently, the Student Technology Services (STS) and Tech Den operate as separate entities, which has led to duplicated efforts, operational inefficiencies, and an inconsistent student experience across the university.

To align with WashU’s goals, STS will expand its support to all students by July 1, 2025. This change will ensure equitable access to technology resources for all students, and support university-wide efficiency initiatives by leveraging cost-effective, scalable solutions.

Additionally, the Tech Den will focus solely on student programming and enrichment, such as 3D Printing and DevSTAC.

Why is this change occurring?

Because students need more than just answers—they need a support system that really gets them, anticipates what they need, and clears the way for their success. They deserve an experience that feels united and easy, not scattered. They deserve a team that has the best tools and processes to serve them better than ever.

The change will bring WashU in alignment with our strategic goals.

  • Enhances student success and retention by ensuring equitable access to technology resources.
  • Supports university-wide efficiency initiatives by leveraging cost-effective, scalable solutions

What will the future state look like?

We are currently in the project’s discovery phase. This section will be updated as more details become available.
