Interfolio

Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM) Welcomes Interfolio on January 8th, 2023

September 19, 2024 Update:

Effective immediately, faculty should not enter additional data into Interfolio’s CV Builder, aka Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) module.

Faculty who have already entered their data into FAR can download their information into a Word or PDF document at any time.

Please refer to the Interfolio – Exporting Your CV Quick Guide for steps and screenshots.

Faculty should continue to use the Review, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) module for their annual reviews, appointments, promotions, tenure, and transfer of tracks.

Faculty will upload a PDF version of their CVs and other documents (e.g. Executive Summary, Clinician Track Impact Report) for annual reviews, consistent with the current process used for appointments, promotions, tenure, and transfer of tracks.

WashU IT is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Interfolio Platform on January 8th, 2024. This initiative represents a significant step forward in streamlining the way we gather data for faculty CVs, and process annual reviews, appointments, and promotions. Interfolio is a faculty information system that provides a full suite of faculty-focused technology to support every stage of the faculty lifecycle, from hiring through promotions and tenure,

Why Interfolio?

Interfolio will be used by all faculty and the departmental/program administrative leaders to facilitate the annual review process, appointment, and promotion processes. The information stored in Interfolio will be used to make your CV and will be pulled into your annual review, appointment, and promotion forms. Once fully implemented, Interfolio will be the only system used to complete the annual review, promotion, and tenure processes. To prepare to use Interfolio for your 2024 annual review, you will need to start entering data into Interfolio right away!

Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR)

Interfolio’s Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) module will replace WUPS for generating faculty CVs at WashU. WUSM users will enter data that will be used to generate your WashU formatted CV at Washington University School of Medicine (WUSM). On January 8th, 2024, WUSM faculty and their administrators will have access to the Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) module.

FAR Key Benefits:

  • Maintain the WUSM official CV template and generate NIH biosketches to automatically present fielded data in clean, readable formats.
  • Create custom Division and Department reports and easily navigate through cells to view the underlying data.
  • Present faculty with recent data on file about their accomplishments (for example pulling papers from PubMed) for them to validate throughout the year.
  • Link activity data to your website’s scholar profiles.
  • Enable the School of Medicine, Divisions, and Departments Departments to gather data for accreditation and other compliance requirements.

In March 2024, WUSM will begin using Interfolio’s Review, Promotion, and Tenure (RPT) module. RPT is Interfolio’s faculty-friendly, convenient, and secure online tool for academic evaluation.
