The Shared Information Technology Services (SITS) Program was an initiative designed to re-balance the information technology (IT) delivery model at Washington University in St. Louis by creating a shared infrastructure and end user computing service platform that facilitates the seamless sharing of information and positions the University for strategic advancement. 

The Shared IT Services (SITS) Program launched in January of 2015 with four projects aimed at the core mission to unify and simplify consuming and providing technology at WashU.

  • WUSM Email Consolidation Project 
    • The email migration project closed in December 2017. In total, approximately 21,285 mailboxes were migrated to WashU’s Office 365 offering.

The Shared IT Services program continues on operationally in WashU IT. The SITS project team helped transition all five of the WUSTL campuses to the modern IT environment at WashU. The project was officially completed on July 1, 2021.
