Engagement Status: In Progress

Goals & Objectives

Chancellor Martin is the executive sponsor of the Huron engagement that will engage campus stakeholders, including the IT division, to identify recommendations for improved IT operational and organizational effectiveness and efficiency across both Danforth and Medical School campuses. The engagement is eight months in length, beginning in August 2020 and scheduled to conclude in March 2021.

Engagement Scope

The engagement scope has spanned two phases, which are outlined below in more detail.

The initial assessment addressed critical service-level challenges, creating a more aligned working relationship for IT at WashU and establishing shared best practices for leveraging an IT organizational model that is optimal at service delivery.  The initial phase resulted in further engagement with Huron, which is focused on the following efforts:

  • Issue triage
    • Network Performance
    • Cyber Security
    • User Support
    • Active Projects
  • Evaluate & Design WashU Hybrid IT Organization Model
  • Shared Strategic IT Plan and Vision
  • IT Planning and Budgeting
