Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks) and later:
- Open System Preferences, and then click on Internet Accounts
- Click on the Exchange button to add a new Exchange email account
- In the Exchange window enter in the following info:
- Name: Your name as you want it to appear on sent messages
- Email Address:
- If your WUSTL Key username matches the first part of your @wustl.edu email address, enter: yourwustlkey@wustl.edu
- If your WUSTL Key username differs from the first part of your @wustl.edu email address, enter: yourwustlkey@email.wustl.edu
- Password: your WUSTL Key password
- When prompted, select what services you wish to use (Email, Contacts, Calendar, etc.) and click Done. – Your account should now be setup.
Steps 5-8 should only be followed if you see a window with the message that auto-discover failed.
- If you are prompted with a message that auto-discover failed, click Continue
- In the Account Settings window, fill in the following information:
- Description: WUSTL
- User Name:
- If your WUSTL Key username matches the first part of your @wustl.edu email address, enter: yourwustlkey@wustl.edu
- If your WUSTL Key username differs from the first part of your @wustl.edu email address, enter: yourwustlkey@email.wustl.edu
- Password: your WUSTL Key password
- Server address: outlook.office365.com
- Click Continue
- When prompted, select what services you wish to use (Email, Contacts, Calendar, etc.) and click Done.
Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and earlier:
- Open Mail (Note: if you are setting up your first email connection in Apple Mail, skip to step 5)
- From the Mail menu, select Preferences
- Click on the Accounts tab
- Click the small plus sign (+) to add an account
- When prompted to choose a mail account type to add, select “Exchange”
- In the Add Account window, fill in the following information:
- Full Name: Your name as you want it to appear on sent messages
- Email Address:
- If your WUSTL Key username matches the first part of your @wustl.edu email address, enter: yourwustlkey@wustl.edu
- If your WUSTL Key username differs from the first part of your @wustl.edu email address, enter: yourwustlkey@email.wustl.edu
- Password: your WUSTL Key password
- In the Account Summary window, check the boxes if you want to sync Address Book or iCal with your WUSTL account.

Deleting items from the “Trash” folder performs a permanent delete. This means that items deleted from the “Trash” folder, using the Apple Mail client are NOT recoverable.
