Atlassian provides project management and collaborative tools through a suite of products. Their solutions are designed to streamline software development and team collaboration.  The University is currently on the Atlassian Server option. Applications delivered by Atlassian, and currently in use at the University, are listed below.

  • Confluence is a collaboration tool used to organize work and as a document repository. This tool may be integrated with Jira.
  • Jira is a development tool used to plan, track and release software. This tool may be integrated with Confluence.
  • Bitbucket is an enterprise solution for code development acting as a Git repository. This tool allows teams to collaborate, test and deploy code seamlessly in conjunction with Bamboo.
  • Bamboo is an enterprise solution for code deployment. This tool provides continuous integration, deployment and delivery in conjunction with Bitbucket.

Accessing Atlassian Products

Product licenses are available to allow University departments to access the WashU IT instance of each Atlassian product. To request a license for access, complete the General Service Request Form and specify which group’s access is needed. The Access Management team will contact you once the request is fulfilled.

While there is a nominal fee required to obtain a license for each of the Atlassian applications, some departments already have licenses available for use by their staff. Check with your department to determine if Atlassisan is currently available for staff prior to submitting an access request. Questions regarding licensing fees should be directed to the System Administrator by submitting a General Service Request Form.
