In honor of Juneteenth, Washington University School of Medicine – Information Technology Support Services gathered for the annual celebration.
The celebration was hosted on Monday, June 20th, 2022, by Travon Walker, Supervisor of Clinical Operational Support. WUSM ITSS celebrated Juneteenth by hosting an interactive learning discussion led by guest speaker Shana Frierson, a diversity and inclusion industry leader and human resource professional.
The celebration included a delicious lunch prepared by black owned caterer Collective Catering as well as a host of games and activities centered around Juneteenth and celebrating African American culture.
WUSM ITSS hopes this is the start of many more activities to come that will enhance an accessible, positive, respectful, and inclusive work culture while broadening our understanding as a company, as a family, and as individuals of the profound diversity of cultures that make up the human race.
