Shared Infrastructure Enterprise Engineering (SIEE) is in the midst of a campaign to educate our university community about the collaborative features of Skype for Business. SIEE Director Dan Zweifel and Technical Services Manager Gregory Barton have been hosting events at the WUSM and Danforth campuses to answer questions about the service while working on a strategy to meet the specific needs of our institution. The initial response has been enthusiastic with many faculty and staff members seeking guidance to become more comfortable with the platform.
We anticipate several outside factors and use-cases that will be crucial to our community this school year and going forward as we adjust to the demands of a modern institution. Limited parking has bolstered the need for meetings across our campuses to be held online, while faculty is increasingly interested in bringing remote guests into their classrooms to speak to their students.
As part of this campaign, the Performance Support team will be updating our tutorials and FAQs about the Skype for Business platform while giving consideration to the feedback we are hearing from our community. Times and locations for future in-person training events will be posted in upcoming REfresh newsletters. To find out more about Skype for Business click here.
