The WashU IT End User Services (EUS) Project Team successfully completed a tech upgrade critical to operations of the recently expanded Siteman Cancer Center St. Peters location.
The expansion, which opened May 1, nearly doubled the facility’s size while proving to be an opportunity to make key upgrades to outdated equipment. WashU IT was charged with replacing outdated machinery while bringing the total number of units from around 30 to over 100. These include 60 thin clients running Follow-Me Desktop (FMD), which allows physicians to log in and access their data on any nearby client.
Siteman administrators believe that the newly expanded location will allow them to bring their cutting-edge cancer treatments to a community hospital setting. The facility continues Siteman’s mission to provide those treatments to various communities throughout the region. In addition to the St. Charles County facility, Siteman has locations in South County, West County and on the Washington University Medical Campus. WashU IT anticipates hiring and assigning up to five new techs to Siteman’s satellite facilities.
